Taos Ski Trip (February 25-29, 2000):

A few my friends and I decided to re-live our college days and take a quick, cheap, and dirty ski trip. The basic idea of these trips is to leave work Friday evening, drive strait through and arrive just as the slopes are opening Saturday morning. Then we ski Saturday, Sunday, Monday, and leave Monday afternoon/evening. Finally, we drive strait back to arrive for work first thing Tuesday. This time, there were only four men up to the challenge: Me, Rudy, Joe, and Rand.

Our original destination was Ruidoso, NM. (This used to be our standard destination for these kinds of trips due to the drive-time and general cost of the resort, etc.) However due to poor snow conditions at Ruidoso, we had a last-minute change of plans and decided to trek up to Taos, NM instead. While Taos is a bit more costly, the slopes are good (mostly blues and blacks) and the ski area is a lot bigger. Although the drive was slightly longer, I think it was well worth the extra miles.

Although these pictures will give you a flavor of the trip, you'd have to see Rudy's video of the trip to truly appreciate the skiing experience (i.e. the wipe-outs).
